Sarcococca 'Western Hills' is a selected clone of the popular evergreen Himalayan native groundcover Sarcococca hookeriana var. digyna, from California's famous Western Hills nursery. Although it could never be described as fast-growing, it eventually forms an 18" tall x 3' wide evergreen groundcover. The upright stems are clothed with narrow green leaves, and the stems are also home to terminal flower buds that appear in fall and open as tiny fragrant white flowers in late winter. Sarcococca 'Western Hills' is very tolerant of dry woodland soils, but is intolerant of soggy sites.
