Epimedium 'William Stearn' is a fairy wing hybrid from Robin White of England's Blackthorn Nursery, named after the late Professor William Stearn, who completed the updated monograph "The Genus Epimedium" just prior to his death in 2001. For us, Epimedium 'William Stearn' makes a 15" tall x 3' wide clump topped, starting in mid-April, with long spikes of large spider-like flowers with long cherry-red spurs, backed by mauvy pink sepals...truly a unique gem, much like the late Professor Stearn.
