We are thrilled to offer the very rare pink-flowered form of our native mayapple, Podophyllum 'Missouri May'. As you may have guessed, this selection of Podophyllum peltatum was discovered in Missouri. Just beneath the deeply-lobed leaf, sits a single pink, horizontally-held flower that opens in early spring just after the leaf has fully unfurled. As with all Podophyllum peltatum, Podophyllum 'Missouri May' spreads via underground stolons to make a 5' wide patch in 5 years when grown in rich, moist soils. Thanks to plantswoman Ellen Hornig, founder of the former Seneca Hill Nursery, for making it possible for us to offer this gem.
