Asarum 'Deep Throat' is a 2019 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction (our second) of the giant evergreen Chinese wild ginger, Asarum nobilissimum. Asarum 'Deep Throat' produces giant, glossy, green leaves, which can reach a whopping 8" long. Asarum 'Deep Throat' is slowly spreading via thick rhizomes, and in good growing conditions can produce a 3' wide patch in 10 years. In mid-spring, the clumps are adorned with ginormous 4" wide dark purple flowers, flecked with tiny yellow specks, and a wide white eyezone highlighting the dark purple socket. It took us 18 years to build up enough to share for the first time...enjoy!
