(aka: Cardamine multifida) Dentaria dissecta 'Dental Floss' is a 2022 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction of our special 1998 collection from Whitfield Co., Georgia, near the Tennessee state line. This is the tiniest, narrowest-leaf form of the native Dentaria dissecta that we've ever seen. After 20 years in the garden, Dentaria 'Dental Floss' has formed a whopping 5" tall x 10" wide specimen. Yes, that's rock garden size for sure. Although quite easy to grow, the growth rate is ridiculously slow, so expect another decade or so before we offer this again. The dental floss-like leaves, which emerge in winter, are so thin they aren't recognizable as leaves. Starting in mid-February, the airy patches are topped with short stalks of tiny white bell-shaped flower that emerge upright before becoming pendant as they age. By May, the clumps have gone to sleep for the season.
