This new upright selection of one of the midwest US dryland prairie native species was spotted by native plant guru, Wild Larry Lowman of Ridgecrest Nursery on the Goodwin, Arkansas property of Elizabeth Loewer. The dark purple winter rosettes turn blue/green in spring as the foliage expands upward in June, and is topped from then until fall with light blue flowers... perfect for the hot and dry garden!
