Schizachyrium scoparium 'Liberty Blue' is a 2018 Plant Delights Nursery introduction of a plant we originally discovered in 2003 in Liberty County, Florida, and previously identified as Andropogon glaucopsis. The 18" tall x 30" wide clump of narrow powder-blue leaves are topped, starting in late August with 42" tall, wispy blue flower stalks, flushed with lavender. We think this is one of the most heat and humidity tolerant blue-foliage grasses that we've ever grown, and despite living naturally in bogs and pond edges, we've found it amazingly content growing in the garden with dryland agaves.
