Cypripedium 'Philipp Dark' is a wonderful new color-form of the insanely popular Cypripedium 'Philipp'. Like its parent, Cypripedium 'Philipp Dark' is a hybrid of the Chinese native orchid, Cypripedium macranthos and the large-growing North American native, Cypripedium kentuckiense. Cypripedium 'Philipp Dark' is a superb performer in our heat and humidity, forming a robust clump to nearly 2' tall, topped in late spring with large slippers of dark raspberry and backed by stunning, large, deep purple sepals often streaked white...a truly amazing plant! Our hardy ladyslipper orchids are all flowering-sized plants.
