Iris 'Roy's Repeater' is a fascinating, vigorous-growing hybrid of at least three bog iris species...the European yellow flag, Iris pseudacorus, the Asian Iris chrysographes, and the US native blue flag, Iris versicolor...quite a globe trotter! This 2002 Terry Aitken introduction forms a 5' wide patch that grows equally as well in shallow water or in typical garden soil. The 3.5' tall, branched flower stalks are topped, starting for us in mid-May with white flowers, highlighted with a dark yellow throat, and covered in dramatic blue veining. This fabulous hybrid has won several prestigious American Iris Society awards including the Award of Merit in 2010, and the SIGNA Randolph-Perry Medal 2013.
