Pavonia lasiopetala is a hibiscus cousin, endemic to central and south Texas, that makes a superb plant for the sunny, dry garden. The 2' wide mound of stems is clothed with hairy, maple-like foliage. Starting in midsummer and continuing until fall, the clumps are topped with dozens of 1.5" wide, bright pink flowers. We have found Pavonia lasiopetala very easy to grow and extremely floriferous...especially during times of drought.
