For the love of all that is good and orchid covered, come expand your blooms beyond the dyed epiphytic plants found in the grocery store! Hardy terrestrial orchids grow in a range of environments. Tailoring your planting and watering to each requires getting to know your partner plant before jumping into a garden bed. The class will focus on the five hardy orchids that Plant Delights offers, as well as exploring those that are found in our botanic garden. We will begin with an introduction to orchid form and evolution, the keys to understanding where—
and why—to plant terrestrial orchids. Exploring seed germination and sprinkled with mythology and lore, this class is the perfect amendment for gardeners who want orchids outside of their bathroom windowsill.
