(aka: Microsorum A1TW-017) Microsorum brachylepis is a dazzling epiphytic fern that we're sharing for the first time in 2019. Our offering is from our 2008 spore collection from Taiwan's Mt. Datun, where it grew epiphytically, creating massive colonies on tree trunks. We're uncertain about winter hardiness, but other plants growing nearby have been fine in our Zone 7b climate. To be on the safe side, we're guessing Zone 8-ish. The 6" long, glossy, wavy green leaves emerge from a ground-level rhizome to form a thick mass of glossy green foliage. Microsorum brachylepis is a superb container plant where it isn't winter hardy in the ground.
