(aka: Dryopteris juxtaposita) Dryopteris sublacera is a rarely cultivated high elevation (6,000'-10,000') Himalayan native fern that's made a wonderful 15" tall x 3' wide specimen in our woodland garden. The outward-arching, 2' long, evergreen, light green fronds compose the clump which resembles a larger version of our US native Dryopteris marginalis. Our offering represents a 2003 Hans Hansen Chinese spore collection (03CH107). A mass of Dryopteris sublacera in the woodland garden forms a splendid backdrop for smaller hostas.
