Epimedium dewuense is a rare, little-known fairy wing first discovered in China's Guizhou Province by Joanna Zhang under the direction of plantsman Darrell Probst. Epimedium dewuense was named in 2003 and first introduced to cultivation by Darrell Probst in 2006. Epimedium dewuense is an evergreen, clumping fairy wing clothed with large, 5" long x 3" wide, hairy leaves that serve as foils, starting in mid-March (NC), for the 1' long, arching/pendent flower stalks, from which dangle dodecatheon-like flowers...white with a 4-segmented raspberry cup. Epimedium dewuense is similar to both Epimedium fargesii and Epimedium dolichostemon.
