Oenothera is a large group of American native perennial wildflowers (including North Carolina) that include many wonderful garden specimens as well as a few bad weeds, all recognizable by their butterfly-attracting yellow flowers and 4-way branched stigma.
Oenothera is closely related to true primroses (Primula), hence the common name evening primrose. We have selected a small number of species that are excellent garden performers.
