The coastal form of Yucca filamentosa morphs into a unique ecotype which was given the name Y. filamentosa var. concava. These plants are slightly smaller (15" tall x 2' wide) and the leaves are wider with blunt tips and more of a v-shaped channel than the more inland forms. Y. filamentosa var. concava is a very attractive plant that also seems quite tolerant of light shade. The plants are topped with typical 4' tall flower stalks of white bells in early summer.
