    This stunning Don Jacobs selection of the common strawberry begonia is an exciting departure from the norm. Each rosette has rounded leaves of burnished gold with a contrasting green butterfly pattern in the center of each leaf. In late spring, the rosette sends out threadlike red projections that upon landing, form more plants. Strawberry begonia makes an excellent groundcover in slightly moist shady sites.
