This great US native, discovered in 1951, calls the ditches and swamps from east Texas across to Alabama home. Hymenocallis liriosme is composed of glossy leaves emerging from a black-sheathed bulb. The 30" tall flower stalks emerge in mid-spring topped, starting in late April (NC), with a cluster of 4-7 fragrant, upfacing, white-cupped flowers highlighted by bright yellow throats. This garden plant is very easy to grow in slightly moist soil. Our offerings are grown from a population in Nacogdoches County, Texas.
