Arabis x sturrii is a hybrid of the Balkan native Arabis procurrens. This easy-to-grow and long-lived rock cress (cabbage family Brassicaceae) has long been one of our favorite rock garden plants for hot humid climates. The green, ground-hugging mats of evergreen foliage make a dense 3'-4 wide clump. Starting for us in mid-March,the tiny green foliage is topped with dainty 4" stalks of equally tiny white flowers. Arabis x sturii is a perfectly-behaved, seemingly sterile gem for the rock garden or in troughs.
