Sarracenia 'Abandoned Hope' is an amazing hybrid from California's Peter D'Amato, who crossed Sarracenia purpurea ssp. venosa var. burkii with Sarracenia flava var. flava. Sarracenia 'Abandoned Hope' is a huge plant with 2' tall pitchers that start yellow and age to rusty red. The pitcher top is netted yellow and red. Remember that moist, but not constantly wet soils and bright sun are the keys to pitcher plant success.
