We have been amazed at how well Brent Horvath's new Jacob's ladder hybrid (Polemonium reptans x Polemonium yezoense) has fared in our hot humid climate. The deciduous 1' wide clumps emerge in early spring with pinnate green foliage that starts out with a burgundy flush. The foliage is then topped from early April through early May (NC) with 18" tall sprays of small, lightly-fragrant purple bells...very cute in the spring garden.
