Pachysandra procumbens is a clump-forming native plant (Pennsylvania south to Louisiana) composed of olive-green, fleck-patterned, semi-evergreen foliage held at the end of long prostrate stems. In very early spring, stalks of 4" tall, white bottlebrush-like flowers arise from the center of the clump just prior to the new foliage, which emerges solid green. With age and great patience, Pachysandra procumbens will eventually make a 3-4' wide patch...a superb semi-evergreen groundcover in the woodland garden. Unlike Pachysandra terminalis, Pachysandra procumbens is less aggressive and mingles better with neighboring plants. This offering represents a mix of many seed-grown clones.
