Hosta 'Tokudama Flavocircinalis' (F. Maekawa/AHS 87)
Zone: 4a to 7b,
Height: 17" tall
Culture: Light Shade
Pot Size: 3.5" pot (24 fl. oz/0.7 L)
This old Japanese cultivar is still one of the most prized hostas in American gardens. Essentially, picture a slightly smaller statured Hosta 'Frances Williams' without the leaf scorch, and you have Hosta 'Tokudama Flavocircinalis'. The thick, rounded, blue corrugated leaves are accented by a wide golden margin. In late spring, the 4' wide clumps are topped with 24" tall stalks of pale lavender flowers.
