This 2000 Hemerocallis citrina hybrid from Ohio's Curt Hanson (which originally sold for more than $100) makes a statement in any garden. The masses of 6' tall branched flower stalks begin opening in late June to reveal large, yellow, fragrant, nocturnal (opens around 4pm) flowers...the hummingbirds may lose sleep over this one. Shouldn't we all be looking up to daylilies? I think so!
