Ficus (Fig)
" Ficus " normally brings to mind the ubiquitous houseplant (Ficus benjamina) with shiny evergreen leaves and a braided trunk, the edible fig (Ficus carica) or the tropical banyan figs/strangler figs of Bangladesh. Ficus is actually a large genus of tropical plants (over 800 species) that includes a few cold-hardy members such as the edible fig, the vining fig (Ficus pumila) and a few others.
