Joe-Pye Weed bursts from the ground with bamboo-like stalks that quickly ascend to 12'. In midsummer, this clumping perennial is topped with massive, 1' wide, smoky-pink flower heads...the absolute favorite of butterflies! This is the true species, Eupatorium fistulosum, not one of the shorter species often sold as such in the trade.
