Begonia taliensis green leaf form (Taliense Hardy Begonia)

Part Sun to Light ShadeZone: 7b-8, at least 8" tall Origin: China

NEW! From 4,000' to 7,000' elevation in scrubby open forests (the only kind left after all the trees were cut) of Western Yunnan comes this small but hardy begonia. In cultivation, B. taliense doesn't sprout for us until late June, when the maple-shaped, fuzzy green leaves emerge on short stalks from the underground rhizome. The clump is topped by a short 10" tall spike of pink flowers in late summer. This is a very cool small-growing woodland specimen, but if you're looking for your grandmother's bedding begonias...this ain't it. Pot size: 24 fl. oz (709.77 ml)
