Helleborus x nigersmithii 'Walhelivor' PP 16,199 (Ivory Prince Lenten Rose)

This new hellebore hybrid (H. x nigercors x H. x ericsmithii) comes from breeder David Tristram of England. The dark burgundy-red petioles hold the glossy, green leaves, each highlighted by silvery veins. In midspring, the clumps are topped with spikes of flowers, which emerge as dark reddish-pink buds, then open white. Thanks to tissue culture, each plant is identical. We made up the x nigersmithii part for this new cross, but we're stuck with the moronic cultivar name. Pot size: 24 fl. oz (709.77 ml)
