Adiantum hispidulum 'Mt. Haleakala' (Rosy Maidenhair Fern)

Part Sun to Light ShadeZone: 8-10, colder with protection 12" tall Origin: Asia

Web-Only! (coll. #A1HA-016) Rosy maidenhair is commonly grown as a houseplant but few gardeners realize its winter hardiness. A. hispidulum is easy to grow and reliable in Zone 8, but has also been hardy in protected sites in the warmer parts of Zone 7. A. hispidulum makes an attractive 1' tall x 1' wide clump with fronds which emerge rosy red...hence, the common name. Our spores came from 5000' near the top of Maui's famed Mt. Haleakala. Our plants have been in the ground since 2004. Pot size: 24 fl. oz (709.77 ml)
