This cool selection of the Southern Europe soft shield fern has rounded pinnules (the green things that compose the frond) and uniquely branching 20" fronds, which like a good meal can have more than one fork. Additionally, tiny extraneous plantlets will form along the frond when the plants are mature. We are still trying to figure out how to best grow these in the Southeast, while gardeners in the Northeast and West Coast find them quite easy. Slightly moist and near neutral soils are preferred.
