Agave salmiana var. ferox x scabra (La Escondida Century Plant)

SunZone: 7b-9, guessing 48" tall Origin: Mexico

Web-Only! These plants were grown from seed collected near La Escondida, Mexico (Sierra Madre Occidental mountain range) as A. macroculmis. It is now evident that they are probably a natural hybrid of A. salmiana var. ferox and A. scabra. We are currently growing these hybrids from earlier collections and have found them to be superb garden specimens in our climate. I would eventually expect large plants to 4-5' tall x 6-8' in width with good grey-green coloration and upturned leaf tips. These are in limited supply for experimental gardeners, so get them while they last. Pot size: 24 fl. oz (709.77 ml)
