Forget everything you know about phlox before you look at this plant. Phlox 'Sileniflora' is an introduction of the late rock garden guru Linc Foster, who thought it might be a hybrid of P. subulata. We'll leave that debate to the experts, but to us, it looks like a creeping phlox whose head was shaved by an inebriated Britney Spears. The miniature needles are tightly congested, producing a small, 6" wide clump of foliage. In mid-spring, the clumps are topped with tiny, pure white flowers. Plant this in a special place in the rock garden, and take a GPS reading so you can actually find it again. Pot size: 24 fl. oz (709.77 ml)
