Yucca treculeana (Spanish Dagger)

Yucca treculeana (Spanish Dagger)
SunZone: 7-10 144" tall Origin: USA, Mexico

Web-Only! Here's a plant that is worthy of its TX heritage...humongously large (who says we aren't adjective?) and under its breath yells...back off! Y. treculeana is indeed an imposing yucca that typically forms a thick, 12' tall trunk, although giant specimens can exceed 20' tall. The rigid, boat-shaped, 3' long x 2" wide bayonet-like leaves are symmetrically arranged around the thick trunk. When the plant is old enough to flower, usually in about 4-5 years, a giant, white, light bulb-like inflorescence emerges from the top, opening into an amazing floral spike of white. The leaves can be used for thatching roofs, while the fruit ferments nicely into an adult beverage. Pot size: 24 fl. oz (709.77 ml)
