Epimedium acuminatum White Flower Form (Fairy Wings)
Light ShadeZone: 6-9, possibly colder 12" tall Origin: China
Web-Only!
This very unusual epimedium is a white-flowered variant of E. acuminatum from the mountains of Sichuan, China. We originally offered these as E. chlorandrum, not noticing the pollen was yellow instead of green. There is a possibility that this may eventually be determined to be a new species (Probst 2005). The 1' tall evergreen clumps produce long flower spikes, adorned with large, 1.5", yellow spider-like spur flowers, backed by long white sepals. This has been a great performer and has become one of our favorite epimediums. Pot size: 24 fl. oz (709.77 ml)
