This easy-to-grow tropical species, native to alkaline regions of southern Thailand and western Malaysia, is composed of an attractive, 2' tall, reddish-green stalk topped with a uniquely elegant, densely-veined, large green leaf. When the bulbs are large enough to flower, the 1' tall flowering spike is topped with an 8" tall inflorescence composed of a white spathe and a dramatic dark purple upright spadix...quite the sight! Our plants are propagated from an Alan Galloway expedition to the salt-spray prone limestone cliffs of Phang-Nga Bay, Thailand, the film setting for the James Bond movie, Man with the Golden Gun.
