Zephyranthes 'Bangkok Yellow' (Bangkok Yellow Rain Lily)

Open House/Web-Only! Our original bulb was purchased from the Bangkok market by plantsman Alan Galloway. We first thought it was the old hybrid Z. 'Ajax', but this clone differed slightly in color from the Z. 'Ajax' in our reference collection; hence, we use the moniker 'Bangkok Yellow'. This is almost certainly another hybrid of Z. citrina x Z. candida because of the typical short, round, upright green leaves of Z. candida. When it begins flowering in late summer, the clumps are topped with Z. candida-sized flowers that open a nice yellow and change to a lighter yellow the second day.
