Crinum 'Emma Jones' (Emma Jones Crinum Lily)
Sun to Part Sun Zone: 7-10 30" tall Origin: Hybrid
Open House/Web-Only!
This old Thad Howard-named hybrid from the TX garden of Fred Jones is a cross between C. 'Peachblow' and C. 'Cecil Houdyshel'. Like the arms of a giant octopus, the glossy green, 3' long x 3" wide, strap-shaped leaves arch out and downward from the giant bulb. This bold mound of foliage is softened, beginning in mid-June, with 4' stalks, each topped with up to a dozen deliciously fragrant, 7" long x 3" wide, purplish pink flowers (RHS 62B). In windy areas, the giant flower stalks may need support groups. Actually, make that regular supports for the crinum...my wife says the support groups are what I need. Pot size: 24 fl. oz (709.77 ml)
