Hypericum calycinum 'Briggadoon' (Golden Dwarf St. John's Wort)
Part Sun to Light ShadeZone: 4-7a, at least 6" tall Origin: Europe
We are thrilled to see our 1998 introduction finally making its way into the mainstream trade. We were captivated when we first saw this gold leaf mutation of Hypericum calycinum on a 1995 visit to Oregon's Briggs Nursery. The plants were sent home with us and H. 'Briggadoon' was born. H. 'Briggadoon' makes a slowly stoloniferous thick groundcover of golden foliage on short arching 1' stems. In mid to late summer, the clumps are topped with yellow St. John's wort like flowers...perfect for brightening a lightly shaded spot in the woodland garden. In colder climates, cut the old stems to the ground in early spring for best results. Pot size: 24 fl. oz (709.77 ml)
