Web-Only! This charming and very easy-to-grow sage is the little darling of the salvia world. I first caught a glimpse of S. roemeriana on my expedition to Mexico in 1994. This perennial salvia makes a short rosette of dark green leaves with purple veins. In spring it flowers heavily, topped with 12" spikes of bright crimson-red, tubular flowers...great for low-flying hummingbirds.
