We are excited to once again offer this very rarely offered native ginger. A. lewisii is the kudzu of gingers, quite unlike other gingers in that the runners can reach 20' (not inches) long, with leaves occurring every 2-3 inches along the stem. It is found naturally occurring in moist floodplains of deciduous forests. The foliage on this Flossie Johnson selection (cuttings from Wake Co., NC) resembles A. virginicum with 2" wide glossy green silver-veined leaves.
