(Boehmeria nivea var. tenacissima) This wonderful variegated selection of the Japanese boehmeria makes a dazzling foliage plant for the part sun garden. The 6' tall, branched stalks are adorned with small, fuzzy, round leaves that emerge creamy yellow and become flecked with green as they mature. Boehmeria 'Kogane Mushi', which means "gold bug" in Japanese, is much slower growing than the species, but our five-year-old plant has made an 6' tall x 6' wide patch in good growing conditions.
